Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

This warrior group consists of Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The character are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The target is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Fans can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
